LARGEST RANGE OF UNDERGROUND TANK SIZES
AVAILABLE now!
Reclaim your backyard and use it to it's
maximum potential
We are so excited, we have not just 1 or
2 underground tanks for you to choose from but 5. Yep that's right.
Five
underground tanks starting from the small, compact 1,100 litres which is
ideal for a small Storm Water Retention Tank (SWR also known as SRT) etc, up to 4,500 litres, 5,500 litres, 7,500 litres
and the 10,000 litres tanks.
Our unique design shows them as being a tough tank that will stand the
test of time and what ever nature dishes out. Our underground water tanks
have large ribs that add to the overall strength that many other tank
companies lack.
Underground water tanks manufactured by Coastline Plastics are one of the
very few underground tanks that have actually tested and comply with
the Australian Standards. One of the extreme tests require that an
empty tank be fully submerged in water and not fracture making sure that
the tank can meet worst case scenarios. Our tanks are made of high
quality virgin polyethylene which also meets the Australian Standards for
contact with food and water.

This is a simplified version of the installation guide.
The full detailed installation guide as written up by the independent
engineer is available
upon tank order. Specific requirements, for example, for water logged soils
etc are not covered here. This is not The guide - just a brief outline to
give you an idea. |
- Check first your local council/shire
requirements.
- A first flush diverter is strongly recommended,
either directly with the tank or in the down pipe.
- Check existing underground services, e.g.
telephone, electricity, sewer
- Check water table of your area.
- Excavate square hole approximately 2780mm & to the
required depth. Avoid over excavation.
- Place 100mm thick sand bedding over base, ensure
level & plumb
- Lift tank into place
- Backfill in stages with dry sand & cement
to cover the crown of the tank
- Complete all plumbing & accessories
- Ensure down pipes and diverters are properly
fitted
- Finish surface treatment as desired.
|
Though Coastline Plastics Underground Water Tanks are certified to be
load bearing of 500kg static load, it is recommended that
tanks installed below driveways and garage floors etc
- should be installed 100mm lower than height of tank.
- The cast reinforced concrete slab should not bear on
the tank
- Cast insitu a Rocla CPO storm water cover.
Lifting: The simplest means of lifting and handling the
tanks is to install a 100 x 100mm hardwood F27 grade timber section inside
the tank access opening and positioned horizontally up against the flat soffit and slung from a crane.
Another option is the use of slings.
